Wilton Ray Griffin, Jr.

February 4, 1985 — December 27, 2024

DeRidder, Louisiana

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilton Ray Griffin Jr., who left us on December 27, 2024, at the age of 39. Born on February 4, 1985, in San Antonio, TX, Wilton spent his life in DeRidder, LA, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Wilton was a straightforward man who found joy in the simple things in life. Above all, he cherished his time with his daughter and family, creating unforgettable memories together. He had a knack for capturing moments, always encouraging loved ones to snap a few pictures so those memories could last a lifetime.

Working as a skidder operator in the logging industry, Wilton loved being out in the woods, the fresh air filling his lungs as he did what he enjoyed best. When he wasn't working, you could find him cheering on the New Orleans Saints, fishing by the water, or getting muddy while riding four-wheelers. Music of all kinds brought him joy, and he could often be heard humming his favorite tunes while working or relaxing with family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kierra Griffin of DeRidder, LA; mother, Audrey Griffin of San Antonio, TX; father and stepmother, Wilton and Mary Griffin, Sr. of DeRidder, LA; brother, Charles Ray Griffin of LaCombe, LA; sister, Susanna Nicole Sellers of Oberlin, LA; fur baby, Max and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle, Rickey Griffin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. James Welch will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Bryan Coker,. Justin Martin, Richard Griffin, Cory Watson, Joe Greenough, Bradley Ford. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Rest in peace, Wilton. Your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
