William "Bill" Womack

William “Bill” Womack, 83, of Merryville, LA passed from this life on Friday, March 8, 2013.  He was born March 21, 1929 in Cottonwood, AL.  Bill married Jackie Myers on September 7, 1952.  He served his country during the Korean War.  He was an avid sports fan, loved hunting, fishing and gardening.  He was a member of Merryville First Baptist Church.  He retired from Rice Land Lumber Co. of Rice University in 1993.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jackie Womack; son, Michael Womack of Houston, TX; daughter, Cathy Nichols of Elkins, AR; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Hall of Cottonwood, AL; brothers, John Womack of Montgomery, AL and Tommy Womack of Cottonwood, AL and his pet and companion, french bulldog, Jazz.  He was preceded in death by his sons, Freddie Womack and Keith Womack; parents, Lewis and Reatha Womack; brothers, Bobbie, Don and Rex Womack; sister, Carolyn Meadows.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4pm until 9pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 10:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA. Bro. Lyndon Longoria will officiate.
