Wilford Clinton Emmons left this life unto the Father at the age of 81, and like the farmer he was, left on February 2, 2022, on Groundhog Day. He loved his family. He worked hard to provide for his family through the years, including dairy farming, which he loved, mechanic and many other jobs. He had such a heart of giving. He worked his own farm until he was 80 years old.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Joe Kelly and Lori of Merryville, LA; daughters, Mildred Owens and Jeff of Leesville, LA, Chris Emmons of LA, Deanna Emmons of DeRidder, LA; brother, Robert Emmons of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Brittney Griffin and Brett, Victor Emmons, Joe Riggle (Kelly), Jimmy Owens and Courtney, Kyle Gill and Amanda, Emma Gill; great grandchildren, Johnny, Jake, Ericka, Scottie, Braxton, Madison, Zayden and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Irene Emmons; brothers, Donald Ray Smith, Lavell Emmons, Melvin Emmons; sister, Dolores Howard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and continue at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM, Sunday, February 6, 2022, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Roy Hoosier and Brother Rod Boyer will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Rodney Holliday, Kyle Gill, Leslie Smith, Eric Churchman, Jeffery Meadows, Robert Emmons. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
