Weldon Aaron Schwartz, 83, of Gillis, LA, passed from this life on December 7, 2017.
Weldon served his country as a paratrooper with the Army of the United States during the Korean Conflict. He worked for and retired from Exxon, after decades of service.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 15 ½ years, Ivy C. Schwartz of Gillis, LA; two daughters, Melissa Schwartz Granger and husband Marty of Zwolle, LA and Michelle Schwartz Tiffany of Dupont, LA; two stepsons, DeWayne Bailey and wife Janet of Dry Creek, LA and Bethard Edward Bailey, III and wife Sherry of Virginia; one brother, Jimmy Ray Schwartz of Slaughter, LA; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lucilla Schwartz; his wives, Emma Lee Schwartz and Sue Schwartz; one son, Weldon Aaron Schwartz, II; and one daughter, Rene’ Schwartz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 5:00PM-9:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3:00PM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Glen George will officiate. His grandson and family members will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Johnson Bailey Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
