Weese Roosevelt Alex Watson, lovingly known as Weese, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Lake Charles, LA at the age of 72. He was born on September 1, 1952, in Germany. Throughout his life, Weese made a significant impact on those around him, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

 Having graduated from San Augustine High School in Texas, Weese pursued further education at the University of South Carolina and the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. He dedicated 20 years of his life to serving in the military, achieving the rank of 1st Sergeant in the Army. Weese received numerous accolades for his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, among others.

Not only was Weese a dedicated serviceman, but he was also a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Linda Watson of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Stephanie McClinton and Keith of Iowa, LA, Jennifer Watson and Courtney Laser of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Danny Watson of Houston, TX; sisters, Angela Thomas and Andrew of Panama City, FL, Alonia G. Whitmore and Kenneth of Houston, TX, Debra Anthony and Darrel of Lufkin, TX; brother and sister, Roosevelt and Anne Young; grandchildren, Tyler Foster, Seth Foster; great granddaughter, Kassidy Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiese and Hildy Watson; siblings, Willie Watson, Lorraine Ealim, Anita Johnson, Sammy Routte; best friend and furry companion, Bo.

Weese cherished his family above all else. He adored his children and adored spending time with his loyal dog, Bo. Weese had a passion for life and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and watching football and baseball games. He took pride in maintaining his lawn, tinkering with automobiles, and indulging in his favorite meal, his wife's fish tacos.

Known for his warm soul, quick wit, and captivating stories, Weese could light up any room with his charm and brilliance. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and embraced every opportunity to connect with others. Weese was a true people person, spreading joy and positivity wherever he went.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Weese Roosevelt Alex Watson will be held at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place at the church at 10:00 am, offering friends and loved ones the opportunity to pay their respects. Pastor Daniel Stafford will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Seth Foster, Keith McClinton, Marcus McCormick, Antoine Young, Andre Young, Willie Clifton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roosevelt Young, Verlon Clifton. Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA.

Weese will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing his legacy will continue to shine brightly.
