Wanda Louise Brown

September 17, 1933 - March 10, 2014

Wanda Louise Brown, 80, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, March 10, 2014.  Wanda was a life resident of DeRidder, a mother and homemaker.  She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Gary Brown and wife Sheryl of DeRidder, LA, and Oscar “O.D.” Brown of Strang, OK; daughter, Audrey Brown King of Adair, OK; brothers, Willie Burks of Atkins, AR, DeWight “Shrimp” Burks of DeRidder, LA, and Roland “PeeWee” Burks of Oakdale, CA; sister, Doshie Ree Miller of Anderson, MO; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Louise Burks; husband, Jess H. Brown, Jr.; son, Jess H. Brown III; brother, Theale Burks; sister, Marylee Lloyd.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Rev. Dalton Isbell will officiate.
