Walter Ray Evans

December 3, 1950 - February 8, 2014

Walter Ray Evans, 63, of DeRidder, LA passed from this life on Saturday, February 8, 2014.  Mr. Evans received his minister’s license in 1975 and was ordained in 1988.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lois Evans of DeRidder, LA; sons, Anthony Evans of Salt Lake City, UT, and Parish (Robin) Evans of Raleigh, NC; daughters, Beatrisha Evans and Carla Evans, both of DeRidder, LA, Peteria (Cedric) Tellis of Copperas Cove, TX, and Margaret (Bernard) Freeman of Atlanta, GA; brothers, George (Dee) Evans of Cherry Hill, NJ, Jerry Evans of Houston, TX, and Willie R.(Marilyn) Evans of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Emma Smith of DeRidder, LA, Lucy Nichols and LaZetta Henderson both of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Hunter, August, Darynn, Jasmine, Jamarcus, Ajalae, Demetrius, Qadriy, Kaelen, and Thandie; loving god sister, Sis. Mearn Mapps.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Madie Evans, and brother, Louis Evans.

Visitation and will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00am at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Rev. Louis Guy will officiate.
