Virgil Cantrell

Virgil Cantrell, 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving spouse of 64 years, Claudette Cantrell of DeRidder, LA; sons, Richard Cantrell, Angelo Cantrell both of DeRidder, LA, Joseph  “Joe” Cantrell of Denham Springs, LA, Todd Cantrell of Eunice, LA, and Robert Porter of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Rachel Malone of DeRidder, LA; sister, Geneva Richards of Bono, AR; grandchildren, Lanie Cantrell, Tori Cantrell, Aline Cantrell, Breezie Cantrell, Corbin Porter, Lacey Porter, Carson Porter and Abigail Porter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Pearl M. Lott Cantrell; brothers, William “Bill” Cantrell, Sylvester Cantrell and Jack Cantrell; sister, Bobbie Johnston.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 27, 2019 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Pastor Lindsey Burns will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New Llano, LA.
