Velva June Day

Velva June Day, 78, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Day and Susan of DeRidder, LA and DeWayne “Bubba” Day and Mary of DeRidder, LA; daughter, April Day of DeRidder, LA; brother, W.L. Lewis and Janet of Rosepine, LA; sisters, Betty Bass of Rosepine, LA, Billie Jean Foux and Bea of Moss Bluff, LA, Peggy Courtney of Gonzales, LA; grandchildren, Justin Day, Abigail White and Klint, Dallas Day, Darby Jane Day, Kyle Willis and Lilly, Amy Willis, Fred Wisby, Jayden Wisby;  seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Day; daughters, Deborah Day Humphrey and Rhonda Day Willis; parents, Jesse Wallace and Katie Lewis; sister, Debbie Lewis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Grace Church in DeRidder, LA. Pastor George Lee Glass and Brother Ralph Sikes will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Ricky Day, Bubba Day, Justin Day, Klint White, Kyle Willis, and Fred Wisby. Burial will follow at New Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
