Ulia Mae Chavis

April 11, 1948 - February 21, 2016

Ulia Mae Chavis 67, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her home.  Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harold Chavis; sons, Harold Chavis Jr. and wife Marilyn, and Kevin Scott all of DeRidder; daughters, Lori Lewis and husband Kanassa of DeRidder, and Bertha Miller of Humble, TX; brothers, Eric Groves, Danny Groves, Jr., Frank Scott and Clayton Scott and wife Rita all of DeRidder, and Aundre Scott and wife Avryl, and Kelvin Scott all of Houston, TX; sisters, Patricia Washington and husband Moses of Humble, TX, and Doris “Jeanie” Ford and husband Clifford, Sandra McCoy and husband Bernard, and Sophia Tellis and husband Donnie all of DeRidder; grandchildren, Tinchinsa Hausaman, Jaheim Chavis, Harold Chavis III, Jahorld Chavis, Leonard Chavis, Raheem Gamble, Jalisa Miller, Jasmine Scott, Nikeysha Lewis, and Kanassa Lewis, Jr.; and great grandchild, Adavion Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Dorothy Mae Scott.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at New Hope CME in DeRidder.  Visitation will begin at 1:00pm until time of funeral service at 2:00pm.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Rev. Ewell Archield will officiate.
