Toleda Ann Weldon

d. January 5, 2022

Toleda Ann Langley Weldon, 67, of Sulphur, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

Toleda was one of the sweetest women to ever grace the earth and was deeply loved by all that knew her. She was truly devoted to her husband, an especially loving mother to her three sons, and a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur. She loved Jesus with all of her heart and was quick to tell how He had changed her life. She was baptized in Jesus’ Name, filled with the Holy Ghost, and committed to God all the way to the end.

All who visited her home knew how especially gracious she was as a hostess. She made sure to welcome her guests to open the refrigerator and help themselves to a glass of the sweetest iced tea in southwest Louisiana. Her favorite things to do were to laugh and enjoy quality time with her family and friends. When prompted, she could get the entire group rolling with the hilarity of her own special brand of Cajun humor.

Toleda always made herself available to help out with church functions and gatherings. Any time there were ladies working at the church, she could be found doing more than her share – and enjoyed making the others laugh all the while. She was also well known for her fantastic chicken and sausage gumbo with its rich and delicious hand-made roux.

If any lady was ever born to be a mother, Toleda certainly was. She doted on her sons and cared deeply for their happiness and well-being – and for that of their families. She made sure that her sons were well-dressed and worked hard to ensure that their lives were full of happiness and wonderful memories. Her passionate affection for them will always be a source of strength and a deeply treasured legacy of love.

Those left to cherish her memory are loving husband of fifty-one years, Burl David Weldon of Sulphur, LA; sons, David Weldon of Sulphur, LA, Darin Weldon and Kori of Westlake, LA, Damon Weldon and Brittany of Conyers, GA; brothers, Randy Langley of Houston, TX, Dean Martin and Cammie of Vinton, LA; grandchildren, Ashlynn Weldon, Kaylynn Weldon, Dilan Weldon, Emmy Weldon, Preston Weldon, Savannah Weldon, Jackson Weldon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Darin Blane Weldon; parents, Seward and Onita Langley; brothers, Kirby Langley, Ronnie Langley.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 8, 2022, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Reverend Harlan Morgan, Reverend Jonathan Alvear will officiate the service.
