Tessie Marie Major

Tessie Marie Major, 44, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.  Tessie was born to Ella Joy Chapman and the late Landers Joseph Lee Bellard on August 11, 1969 in Lafayette, LA.

She left behind her daughters, Chasity Mone’ Bellard and Carmen La’Shaun Major, both of DeRidder; mother, Ella Joy Chapman of DeQuincy, LA; three sisters, Rita Brenda Faye Bellard Scott (Clayton) of DeRidder, La, Joycelyn Patrice Bellard of DeQuincy, LA; and Penny Doral Bellard Sharpe (Anthony) of Lake Charles, LA; grandson, Juelz Alexander Dior Bellard of DeRidder, LA.  Preceeding her in death was her father, Landers Joseph Lee Bellard; two brothers, Landers Ray Bellard and Randy Ray Bellard; as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, 6 aunts, 8 uncles, as well as many friends.

Tessie Marie Major was raised in DeQuincy, LA.  She later moved to DeRidder, where she worked at Ft. Polk.  Tessie attended Grace Church in DeRidder.  She enjoyed being with friends and family.  She was a very fun and loving person.  She enjoyed life’s adventures and she lived life doing what she enjoyed.  Tessie Marie Major will be forever missed and always remembered.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Grace Church in DeRidder.  Visitation is from 9:00am until 11:00am, with funeral service beginning at 11:00am.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.  Rev. George Glass will officiate.
