Sylvia Lee Jones Garner

Sylvia Lee Jones Garner, 56, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Sylvia known as(Shug) is what her family would call her. True definition of a phenomenal women. she was always quick to help others if they needed anything. Everyone knew they could call on shug if they needed anything. She kept the family together through thick and thin. She would give her shirt off of her back if she had to. Every time she went somewhere everyone knew who she was. She left a positive impact on the community. She had a passion for Mickey Mouse and The Dallas Cowboys .Sylvia met the love of her life while she was still in high school. They had been married for 34 years. She was an amazing wife and mother to four children and she have two grandchildren. There was never a time she told them no, even if it was her last. She always made it happen. She loved her grandchildren and taught them everything that they know, everything they wanted she gave it to them. She helped raised all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own and loved them as her own. We are grateful for the years that we have spent with her, we had such an amazing woman in our life there is absolutely no one like her. For she is in a better place resting, and will always be watching over us.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of thirty-four years, Darryl Garner of DeRidder, LA; sons, Tristan Garner, Daryl Garner, both of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Kyra Rosendoll, Makayla Garner, both of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Frank Jones, III, Nathaniel Jones, both of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Lillie Jefferson, Patricia Thomas, Cynthia Tellis, all of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Kameron, Kyleigh and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jeraldine Jones; brother, Kirk Jones; sister, Alfreda Hollie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Missionary Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Alvin Peters will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Fred Prater, Jamiel Rosendoll, Marcus Thomas, Marvin Hollie, Jay Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tristan Garner, Daryl Garner, Jeff Parker, Kevin Jones, Eric Jones. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
