Susan Marie Thompson Solomon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Marie Thompson Solomon on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was a beloved mother, dedicated nurse, and true beach girl at heart. Susan was born on July 28, 1954, in Wilmington, North Carolina, where her love for the ocean and sandy shores began. She carried that spirit with her throughout her life, despite new adventures taking her to DeRidder, Louisiana.

Susan spent many years caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Beauregard Health Systems, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives. She believed wholeheartedly in the power of kindness and loved her patients as if they were her family. Beyond her nursing career, Susan was a proud pet parent, often referring to her beloved animals as her kids. Her home was always brightened by their presence, reflecting her deep love for all creatures. Susan's favorite color was purple.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Heidi Lea and Mark of Rosepine, LA; sister, Jenny Lillian Thompson Strong of NC; grandchildren, Travis, Jacob and Ethan; niece and nephew, Lisa Marie Strong Thrower and MG of NC, Chris Strong and Abby of CA, Kimberly Ann Thompson of NC, Beverly Thompson Ortega and Raul of NC, Kelly Thompson Colwell and Shawn of NC; fur baby, Titus and a host of family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared and carry on her legacy of love and compassion.

Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit will forever live on in our hearts.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Vance Thompson, Sr. and Inez White Thompson; brother, Cecil Vance Thompson, Jr.; nephews, Alexander White Strong and Cecil Vance Thompson, III.
