Stella Ann Keel

DeRidder, Louisiana

Stella Ann Kelly Keel, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 17, 1943, in Newton, Texas, Stella dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the medical field, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Residing in DeRidder, Louisiana, she was known for her kind heart and vibrant spirit. Stella had a passion for cooking, and her corn chowder and Mexican cornbread were family favorites that will long be remembered. She loved spending her days nurturing her beautiful flower beds, sewing beautiful dresses for her granddaughters, and crocheting lovely pieces that her family will cherish forever. Above all, time spent with family brought her the greatest joy; she was a wonderful mother to her children and a loving grandmother whose warmth and love will be deeply missed.

Those left the cherish her memory are her sons, Billy Joe Keel, David Lynn Keel, Middleton Steve Keel, all of DeRidder, LA; brother, Billy Kelly; sisters, Virginia Perkins, Janie Wyatt, Tommie Brister; grandchildren, Cristina Anne Keel, Deborah Jo Keel, Ashley Marie Keel; great granddaughter, Juniper Grace Rypien and a host of niece, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Keel; parents, Tom and Sybil Kelly; granddaughter, Kayla Keel Hernandez, twin sister, Della Kelly.

Stella's celebration of life ceremony will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the public viewing on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by burial in Old Cypress Cemetery in Rosepine, Louisiana. Pastor Joseph Maddox will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Stella's loving nature and cherished memories will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though she has left this world, her spirit will live on through every family gathering, cherished recipe, and flower in bloom.
