S.T. Self

ST Self, 82, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on June 29, 2017.

ST was born on July 9, 1934 in the Anacoco, LA Community.  He was a graduate of Hornbeck High School.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern Louisiana Institute and went on to earn his Master’s degree from Louisiana State University.  He retired with the LSU Extension Service after 32 years as the 4-H Club Agent and County Agent in Beauregard Parish.  Mr. Self was a member of the First Baptist Church in DeRidder, a 50 year member of the Toro Masonic Lodge 253 of Hornbeck, Louisiana, and a Veteran of the United States Army.

ST was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mangum Self and his parents, George and Tera Addison Self of Hornbeck, LA. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Longoria and husband Roger of DeRidder, LA; his son, Steve and wife Stacey of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren:  Stevi Bryant and husband Devin of DeRidder, LA, Shane Longoria and wife Kelly of Wisner, LA, Scott, Stephanie and Kelli Self of Lafayette, LA; two great grandchildren:  Houston and Roman Bryant of DeRidder, LA; and a host of family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA starting at 12:00 noon and continuing until the time of service at 2:00PM. Reverend Lindsey Burns will officiate the service.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
