Siphronia "Fronie" Opal Robinson Jeane

Siphronia “Fronie” Opal Robinson Jeane was born on July 21, 1922 in Glenmora, LA to Ben and Altha Padgett Robinson and was raised in Hineston, LA.  A product of the Great Depression, she worked in cotton fields and helped take care of her siblings.  She grew up in a singing family and sang alto at home and at Lone Star Baptist Church.  She later met and married David Ernest Jeane, the love of her life.  They moved to Slagle, LA where she raised her family.  Music was a major part of their family as they sang all across central Louisiana.  Siphronia was a longtime member of Flactor Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.  She loved to cook and decorate wedding cakes.  Everyone loved her nurturing spirit and contagious laugh.


Preceding her in death was her husband , Ernest Jeane, Son, Jerel Jeane, Son-in-law, Ed Owers, infant granddaughter, parents, four brothers and 1 sister.


Survivors are her daughter Wanda Owers of Slagle; four sons and daughters-in-law Anthony and Janet Jeane of Slagle, LA, Glen and Nelda Jeane of Pineville, LA, Jerry and Pam Jeane of Anacoco, LA, and Gary and Nancy Jeane of McDonough, GA, 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.


Services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks, LA with Rev. E.J. Bradshaw and Rev. Huey Haymon officiating.  Burial will follow in Flactor Cemetary.  Visitation will begin Saturday, March 9, at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.  at Flactor  Baptist Church.  Donations may be made in memory of Fronie to Flactor Baptist Church or Gideons International.  Funeral services are under the direction of Jerry Jeane and Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
