Scott G. Cooley, 22, of Singer, Louisiana, passed from this life on Sunday, May 17, 2009 in Singer, Louisiana. Visitation will begin on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home from 4 PM until 10 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 10 AM until the funeral service at 3 PM. Funeral services will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 3 PM with Father Jude Brunnert officiating. Burial will follow at Newlin Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana.
Scott was a student at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He graduated from Singer High School and was a member of the FFA and 4-H. He attended and was a counselor at 4-H camp every summer. Scott began showing cattle in the 4th grade and was a member of the Rodeo Club.
Survivors include the following: Parents: Jarvis and Kathryn Cooley of Singer, Louisiana; Brother: Ryan and wife Erin Cooley of Singer, Louisiana; Sister: Erin Cooley of Singer, Louisiana; Nephew: Brett Cooley of Singer, Louisiana; Paternal Grandparents: LaRue and Opal Cooley of Singer, Louisiana; Maternal Grandmother: Margaret Powers of DeRidder, Louisiana; Uncles: Kevin and wife Debbie Cooley of Singer, Louisiana and David M. and wife Tammy Powers of Leesville, Louisiana; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: Maternal Grandfather: Sammy R. Powers and Uncle: James W. Cooley.
