Sarah Ruth Scruggs Marshall, 66, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
Sarah was born July 11, 1955 in Little Rock, AR. She graduated from Central High School, then went on to earn her teaching degree from Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, AR. Over her twenty-two-year teaching career, she taught Home Economics and Art at Hornbeck and Singer High School. Sarah was an avid supporter of the Women’s Ministry at First Baptist Church of DeRidder. She had 35,000 followers on Twitter and was known to Kathy Lee and Hoda on the Today Show as “The New Orleans Bead Lady”. Sarah was a double transplant recipient fourteen years ago and is very grateful to extend the lives of so many others through her own organ donation. Her greatest treasure was her family, especially her grandchildren, who she loved more than anything in the world. Sarah is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of forty-three years, Ron Marshall of DeRidder, LA; sons, Scott Marshall of Houston, TX, Reiter Marshall and wife, Amy Dunaway Marshall of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Ricky Scruggs and Cindy of Alexander, AR; grandchildren, Macallan, Reese, Ford, Maris and John Ellis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Arbra Scruggs.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of DeRidder in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Steve Graves will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Ron Marshall, Scott Marshall, Reiter Marshall, Macallan Marshall, Ricky Scruggs, Eric Scruggs. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
