Samuel David Tilley

Samuel David Tilley, 55, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, May 22, 2020.

Samuel was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked for Myer’s Logging for 38 years, a job which he loved. Spending time with his kids and grandkids was his favorite pastime. His fur baby Maria will dearly miss him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Belinda Tilley; daughters, Jessica Runnels and JR of Livingston, TX; grandchildren, Jeremy, Marlee and Ava; Ashley Tilley of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Madden and Ryker; Priscilla Lott and Jeremy of Bon Wier, TX; grandchildren, Taylor and Ethan; sons, James Brister and Cindy of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Shelbie and Hunter; Daniel Brister and Tasha of Merryville, LA; grandchild, Blaze; sisters, Dorene Gothreaux and Scott of Lake Charles, LA, Mary Thompson of Merryville, LA, Rachel Miers and Jimmy of Singer, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, David and Eveylee Tilley; sister Margaret Gartman; nephew, Shane Gothreaux.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastors Guy Snyder and Donnis Ashworth will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Jason Thompson, Javis Hennigan, Cody Miers, Joel Wayne Hennigan, Dylan Istre, Justin Bingham and Robert Brock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Myers, Buddy Clark, Bill Bennett, Darron Sellers, Micheal Ashworth, Jason Sims, and Mike Myers. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
