Samuel David Cheatham, Sr.

Samuel David Cheatham, Sr, 78, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. He was born March 27, 1939 in Springhill, LA, to Commedo and Lilla Mae Cheatham. Mr. Cheatham graduated from Minden High School. He served two years in the Army, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. After his military service ended, he married the love of his life, Mary Lamb, and they were blessed with two sons.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Aldon Cheatham and wife Leslie; grandson, William Brady Cheatham; granddaughter, Catherine Lile Cheatham all of Spring Hill, TN; sister, Linda Hunter and husband Bill of Chandler, TX; two nieces, Lori McGill of Chandler, TX and Leslie Kerns of Tyler, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lamb Cheatham; and his son Samuel David Cheatham, Jr. and his parents Commedo & Lilla Mae Cheatham.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. Tommy Brandon will officiate.
