Ruth Mcelwee Pollard

Ruth McElwee Pollard, 88, of DeRidder, LA, passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family and friends. She found joy and fellowship through worship and ministry at the First Baptist Church of DeRidder. Ruth sought to be a testament to the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, and she now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Her infectious laughter, pecan pralines and her place at the card table will be missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Rod Pollard and Martha of Creede, CO; daughter, Julie Sauls and Marshall of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Hunter Sauls, Emily Keffler, Clay Sauls, Robin Baldwin; great grandchildren, Eli, Riley, Evelyn, Theodore Lane, Olive, Nora, Alden, Daniel, Ethan, Adelyn Grace, James David, Celia, John and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Jay Pollard; husband of five years, Bob McCullough; parents, John and Margaret McElwee; brothers Fred McElwee, Frank McElwee; sister, Audrey Pike.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral service at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Steve Graves will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Keith Hooper, James Wilson, David Leidig, Ron Marshall, Clay Sauls, Hunter Sauls. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
