Rufus “Friday” Madison Gearen, 85, of Singer, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Kevin Brown and Shannon of DeQuincy, LA, Elizabeth “Cissy” Gearen of Iota, La, Gary Brown and Peggy of Singer, LA, Rodney Brown and Laura, Michael Brown and Honda of Oretta, LA, Sandra Lacy of Kemp, TX, Edith Coker, Leonor Melder, Carol Null, Tresa Jo Davis; sister, Betty “Bo” Daniels of DeQuincy, LA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Ashworth Gearen; sons, Tommy “Tucker” Brown, Ricky Brown; grandson, Jacob Brown; parents, Ed and Bessie Gearen; brother, Billy “Sambo” Gearen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Singer UPC in Singer, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, also at Singer UPC. Brother Donnis Ashworth will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer, LA.
