Ruby Inez Lanier

Ruby Inez Lanier of Merryville, LA passed from this life on October 26, 2009 in Merryville, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 28, 2009 from 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM,  at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder and from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2009 in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009, 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Rev. Roy Lee Johnson and Rev. Guy Snyder will officiate. Interment will be at Meadows Cemetery, Merryville, Louisiana .

Inez was a native and lifelong resident of Merryville.  She was a 1956 graduate of Merryville High School.  Inez was a cook at Merryville Nursing Home for 21 and ¼ years.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed.

Inez is survived by; Sons: Robert Lanier of Afghanistan, Mike and Angie Lanier of Merryville, Louisiana, Donnie Lanier of Houston, Texas, Russell Lanier of Merryville, Louisiana, Dean Lanier of Merryville, Louisiana. Daughters:  Kathy and David  Riggs of Merryville, Louisiana, Sheila Lanier Beard of Merryville, Louisiana. Brother:  Delmer Burks of Rosepine, Louisiana. Sister:  Lena Mae Robberson of Merryville, Louisiana. 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Lanier and a son, Carl “Smokey” Lanier.

Pallbearers will be:  Robert Lanier, Mike Lanier, Russell Lanier, Donnie Lanier, Dean Lanier, David Riggs and Levi Lanier.
