Roy Lynn Cooley, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 16, 2025, in his hometown of DeRidder, LA. Born on December 18, 1951, Roy lived a full life, filled with laughter, hard work, and boundless love for his family and friends.

Roy was a man of many talents. A skilled mechanic by trade, he was known for his ability to fix anything that came his way. If it was broken, you could bet Roy would figure it out. But beyond his mechanical skills, he had a special passion for carpentry, particularly working with cedar wood. He was the family's go-to handyman, always ready to tackle a project or lend a helping hand.

In addition to his work, Roy had a deep love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, often taking his family on camping trips where the memories made, and stories told were keeping alive his spirit of adventure. He was a proud member of the Apostolic Remnant Church in DeRidder, where he cherished his faith and community.

Roy was a Man's man! He was a rare and special kind of man for everything he endured with all the humorous jokes from his kids and his wife. His qualities and talents are unmatched. He made deer hunting "REAL CAMP". His loyalty and love for his kids and Sue are unwavering.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty- six years, Sue Cooley of DeRidder, LA; his daughter, Wendy Vallery and James of DeRidder, LA; his sons, Shawn Cooley and Chris Cooley, who were his favorites along with their wives, Alissa and Sherry, all of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Roger Cooley and Laretta of DeRidder, LA, Ralph Cooley and Sharon of DeRidder, LA, William Keel, Jr. and Kim of Houston, TX; sister, Rita Montano and Toby of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Erica, Landon, Kaydence, Nolen, Clayton, Karson, Riley, Adalynn, Jaxson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Annie Cooley.
