Robert Scott Bradshaw passed peacefully from his life on 7/31/2024.

Scott, as he was known, was a 1993 graduate of DeRidder High School, a 1995 & 1996 graduate of the former Lamar Salter Technical College (now Sowella) in Leesville, LA (Computer Operations, Information Processing & an Associate of Arts in Office Systems Technology), a 1997 & 1998 graduate of LaSalle University in Mandeville, LA (Bachelors & Masters in Business Administration). Scott earned his LA Property / Casualty insurance license in 1997, designations as a Certified Insurance Service Representative, Certified Insurance Counselor & Certified Risk Manager from the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research & a Certified Workers Compensation Professional from Michigan State University. By trade he was a workers' compensation underwriter, risk manager & business analyst for Amerisafe. Scott also was an independent businessman owning an investment holding company, R. Scott Bradshaw, LLC, as well as being a partner in 2 other entities. Scott was a 25 year member of the DeRidder Lodge #271 Free & Accepted Masons, serving as Worshipful Master on 2 occasions, a 26 year member of the Valley of Lake Charles Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite having earned the degree of 32° Degree Mason, a member of the Vernon lodge #51 Royal Arch Masons, Fullerton lodge #26 Cryptic Masons & Rhodes Commandery #17 Knights Templar Masons in Leesville, LA & a 4 year member of the Habibi Shrine Temple in Lake Charles & Southwest LA Shrine Club in DeRidder, LA. Scott also was a board member for BeauCares, LLC from 2017 until its closing in 2021, serving as vice president in 2020 & 2021 & a board member & commissioner for DeRidder Baseball & Softball, Inc from 2018-2019. In 2020, Scott remained affiliated with DBS, Inc, served as a liaison for them with other non-profit organizations. From 2017-2021, Scott was a radio personality with Mike Iles, calling DeRidder High School football games, while his son Matt played. Scott was a life-long resident of the area & married his high school sweetheart, Monika (McConathy) in 1998. They were married until his passing 26 years later, together 32 years. Scott would gladly tell you "he was different" in the way he looked at things compared to other members of his generation. He was very "old school" in the way he approached life & business. While his passion was in cars, 18-wheelers & motorcycles, his greatest loves were his family, friends & Savior, Jesus Christ. Scott was a member of First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. From 2007 – 2019. Scott & Monika were fixtures at the West Park Baseball Fields coaching baseball & softball teams. Their kids (Matt & Kaitlyn) were on & pushing their kids in football, pageants, band & dance. Scott also had one other passion, the Southfork Ranch in Parker, TX. His family & best friends had actually stayed there on 2 occasions. Scott loved the ranch & joined with them in a real-life deal in 2022.

Scott is survived by his wife & love of his life, Monika, one son, Matt, one daughter, Kaitlyn all, of DeRidder. One brother, Kenny Bradshaw, of Texarkana, TX, one uncle, C.J. "Mac" McCann of DeRidder, two aunts, Sharon Dotson of DeRidder, LA & Winnie Welch of DeQueen, AR, & a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bob" & Betty Bradshaw, sisters Loretta & Velda, brothers Jim, Ron & Charles. 

Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA.A celebration of life will take place on August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA under the direction of Myers Colonial Funeral Home & DeRidder Lodge #271 F&AM. Officiating will be Rev. Nelson Santa Ana, Rev. John Simmons, Rev.Josh Eubanks & Rev. Cole Weeks. Pallbearers will be: Dylan Harper, Payton Calhoun, Eric McCann, Dominic Harper, Bubba Wisby, Aaron Sigler, Nathan Bishop and Michael Brister. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
