Rickey Joe Boggs

Rickey Joe Boggs, 69, of Dry Creek, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Rickey loved watching sports, drinking a good cup of Community coffee and most of all spending time with his family. He loved his grandchildren dearly. He worked for fifty-one years in the forestry field. He was a skilled and proud wildland firefighter, who was respected by his peers. Rickey is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty-seven years, Katherine Boggs of Dry Creek, LA; daughters, Crystal Ryan and Zeke of Sugartown, LA, Elona Weston and Tom of Rosepine, LA, Katelynn McKee and Nathan of Moss Bluff, LA; brother, Webster Boggs, Jr. and Lena of Sugartown, LA; grandchildren, Samuel and Emma Ryan, Averi and Nora Belle McKee, Wren Weston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Webster Boggs, Sr. and JoLynn Boggs; sister, Willeen Boggs.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Dry Creek Bible Church in Dry Creek, LA. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA. Brother Sam Burchard will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Zeke Ryan, Samuel Ryan, Nathan McKee, Tom Weston, Jake Ryder, Shawn Rider. Honorary Pallbearers will be Webster Boggs, Jr., Freddie Campbell, Johnny Campbell. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA.
