Rickey "PawPaw" Lynn Brack, Sr., 70, of Pitkin, LA, passed away on November 16, 2024. He was born in Hineston, LA on June 24, 1954. His formal education may have been limited but he had a Masters degree in common sense making his practical knowledge, especially in the logging field, unmatched.
Rickey was not just a chainsaw and skidder operator but also a talented log truck driver. He had a way with his dogs, teaching them tricks like chasing the kids for fun. Rickey had a penchant for simplicity; he never said "I love you" but always responded with a heartwarming "You too." His passions included hunting and gardening, but sitting on the front porch sipping coffee was where he found his true contentment. Indeed, he had a love for coffee and Little Debbie cakes that was unmatched.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty years, Elizabeth "Liz" Brack of Pitkin, LA; sons, Rickey L. Brack, Jr. and Kelley of Anacoco, LA, Rodney Lee Brack and Shannon of Pitkin, LA; daughter, Rebecca L. Dunn and Mike of Pitkin, LA; grandchildren, Hunter and Marlee, Baydon and Shauna, Raylee and Auston, Zachary and Brittany, Garrett and Elizabeth, Savannah and Austin, Khloee, Michaela, Jase; fourteen great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kennie and Maryann Brack; sisters, Mary Lee Jenkins, Rosie Dickins; brothers, W.L. Brack, J.L. Brack.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Lonestar Baptist Church in Pitkin, LA. Brother Dalton Isbell, Brother John Elliott, Brother Chad Estes will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Hunter Brack, Braydon Brack, Zachary Chance, Garrett Brack, Austin Lott, Jase Dunn, Ethan Brister, Clint Brister. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Jenkins, Bruce Austin, Sr. Burial will follow at Lonestar Baptist Church Cemetery in Pitkin, LA.
Rickey Lynn Brack, Sr. will be fondly remembered for his hard work, dedication to his craft, and his simple yet profound way of expressing his love. May he rest in peace.
