R.E. "Jim" Hays

R.E. “Jim” Hays, 88, of Sulphur, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, February 16, 2020.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Rita Louise Nelson Hays of Sulphur, LA; daughters, Samantha Murphy and Erik of Iowa, LA, Diane DeGuess and Yapp of Holland, Rhonda Faucett and Robin of Ft. Smith, AR; sons, Jimmy Hays and Wanda of Mansfield, AR, Jesse Hays and Pam of Warren, TX, Paul David Nelson and Connie of Ragley, LA, Jessie Smith and Tammy of Sulphur, LA; sister, Daisy Marie Tacker of Montgomery, TX; twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Andrew Hansel and Lillie Mae Hays; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur in Sulphur, LA.  Funeral service will also be at First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Brother Harlan Morgan will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Kenneth Laurence, Jesse Wurtz, Garrett Smith, Brandon Chronister, Harland Hays and Andy Hays.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Vanessa Day. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer, LA.
