Prudience "Prudie" Cryer Spikes

Prudience “Prudie” Cryer Spikes, 95, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Rickey Spikes of Ashdown, AR; daughter, Bonnie Eaves and Darrell of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Hannah Spikes, Ben Spikes and Tatiana, Ethan Spikes, Brittany Smart and Kyle, Kaitlyn Smart and Ryan, Rachel Whipkey and Brendon, Jacob Smart and Kassidi, M.J. Smart, Tres Smart and Dustie, Cody Eaves and Delaney, Ashley Sonnier and Nick; eighteen great grandchildren; special friends, D.A. and Betty DeVore of Junction, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Spikes; parents, John and Sarah Cryer; sisters, Maxine Cryer, Jimmie Lee Strickland; brothers, Delmer Cryer, Elmer Cryer, John Junior Cryer; grandson, William Smart.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother Jim Miers and Pastor Alexandria Geovanni will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Jacob Smart, Kyle Piacenza, Darrell Eaves, Rickey Spikes, Andy Whiddon, Hudson Piacenza, Brendon Whipkey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ben Spikes, Ethan Spikes, Ryan Davis, Mason Courville. Burial will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.

The family would like to thank the staff of Westwood Manor Nursing Home and Brighton Bridge Hospice for their care and compassion.
