Patrice Kay Bradley Cason

Patrice Kay Bradley Cason of Deridder, Louisiana passed away on November 30, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Patrice was a loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Although she was small in stature, she had a personality that was larger than life. Patrice had an independent can-do attitude and a feisty spirit to match, putting her heart into all she undertook. She lovingly cared for her parents, uncle, and many others during their times of need. Her compassion for others extended to students in need, who were often overlooked, as well as for every rescue animal that she encountered.

Patrice was born in Deridder, Louisiana on January 3, 1958, and attended Deridder High School where she was active in band, loved cross-stitching, and making custom crochet patterns. Patrice held a number of jobs during her career but found her niche as a dedicated employee of the Beauregard Parish School Board, working as maintenance support staff at Deridder High School and the Central Office. She and her husband also owned a cleaning business, P &J Cleaning, managing several business contracts throughout Deridder. She worked hard, for many years, at many jobs, and always gave her all in whatever she was doing. She was forever one to put others' needs above her own, making sure that whoever she was helping was well taken care of. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, and eternally loved by all those she left behind.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert "Joe" Cason, her sons Todd Blackmon of Austin, Texas, Jeremy Blackmon (Stacey) of Houston, Texas, Lance Cason (Dene) of Lake Charles, step- daughters, Jessica Cason (Rick) of Deridder, Charise Cason of Deridder, Sara Smith of Leesville, her grandchildren, Dylan, Brendon, Justin, Weston, Siara, Tamara, Nevaeh, and Elijah, her sisters, Julia Anderson (Ken) of Westlake, Louisiana, Mary Ruth Corley (Roy) of Austin, Texas, her brother Allen Bradley (Cathy) of Deridder, her special cousin, Marietta Jenkins, her adoring sister-in-law, Jeanette Dunn, and her close friends Rhonda Bailey, and Marlyn Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Clotilde Bradley, and dearly missed friend Theresa Shepherd.

A visitation will be held Tuesday Dec. 3rd, between 4:00-8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in Deridder, Louisiana, and the funeral service will follow the next day, Wednesday, Dec. 4th at 10:00 AM with Rev. Lynn Clayton officiating. Burial will be at Old Cypress Cemetery in Rosepine, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been created through Deridder High School, where she was so cherished by faculty and students, to honor Patrice's memory and deeds.
