Pastor Michael Auldon Burgess

Pastor Michael Auldon Burgess, 45, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kimberly Burgess of Merryville, LA; son, Caleb Burgess; daughter, McKinze Burgess Slaton and Cody, all of King George, VA; parents, Danny and Joyce Burgess of West Plains, MO; grandmother, Wanda Burgess of West Plains, MO; sister, Michelle Schach and Bryan of Springfield, MO; one granddaughter on the way, Eliana and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Burgess, Albert and Betty Drumright.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Green Oak Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. Visitation will continue Monday, August 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM also at Green Oak Baptist Church. Brother Jerry Hext will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Ricky Tucker, Jerry Ingle, Joe Bowman, David Ader, Alejandro Pajares and John LeMaire. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Edmondson, Greg Whittington and John Bowman. Graveside Service and Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in West Plains, MO on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation towards Michael’s medical bills in care of Green Oak Baptist Church at 4976 Hwy. 389, Merryville, LA 70653.

The family has requested that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing.
