Otte Ashworth Brister

Otte Ashworth Brister, 90, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, May 14, 2020.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Brister and Lisa of DeRidder, LA, Mike Brister and Dee of DeRidder, LA, Randy Brister and Shannon of Anacoco, LA; daughters, Shirley Thibodeaux of Pasadena, TX, Ann ”Monk” Brown and Dale of AR, Brenda Rauda and Craig Silvey of Amissville, VA, Patricia Mellen and Jim of Zwolle, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, James Elmer Brister; daughter, Ima Jean Donaldson; parents, Ellis and Angelina Ashworth; grandchildren, Gary Dale Brown, Brandy Christine Brown, and Jody Lynn Midkiff.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 18, 2020 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Brother George Glass will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Tony Brown, Brandon Brister, Chase Brister, Pablo Jara Selvage, Matthew Killian and David Staggs.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Jody Midkiff. Burial will follow at John C. White Family Cemetery of Providence in Providence Community, LA.
