Opal Margaret Burge Cooley, 80, of Singer, LA, passed from this life on Monday, October, 8, 2018.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years, J. LaRue Cooley of Singer, LA; sons, Jarvis W. Cooley and Kathryn of Singer, LA, M. Kevin Cooley and Deborah of Singer, LA; sister, Mary Rose B. Mitchell and John M. of Singer, LA; sister in laws, Barbara B. Burge of Lake Charles, LA and Nelda F. Cooley Ford and Jerry of Many, LA; grandchildren, M. Ryan Cooley and Erin, H. Erin Cooley, Janice M. Cooley-Kennamer, Austin G. Cooley and C. Blake Cooley; great grandchildren, Brett R. Cooley and Penelope K. Cooley, eleven nieces and nephews, and a host of other cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her: parents, Ondie O. and Virginia Stevison Burge; brothers, Ondie O. Burge and Brenda J. and Gary L. Burge; brother-in-law, Ronnie Cooley; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Lora Cooley; son, James W. Cooley; daughter-in-law, Deanna N. Cooley; grandsons, Scott G. Cooley and Joshua A. Cooley; and niece Margaret Mitchell Sizemore.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Visitation to continue at 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 until the time of funeral service starting at 3:00 PM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Brother Garrett Fuselier and Brother Kennis Smith will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be, Austin G. Cooley, Ryan Cooley, T. Alan Burge, John M (Pete) Mitchell, C. Blake Cooley, J. Kyle Mitchell, and Jody W. Mitchell.  Honorary Pallbearers will be, H. Erin Cooley, and Janice M. Cooley-Kennamer. Burial will follow at Havens Cemetery in Singer, LA.
