Norma Jean Young

Norma Jean Young, 83, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life December 30, 2013.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Doris Fontenot and husband Donald of DeRidder, LA and Sharon Higginbotham of Merryville, LA; sister, Linda Smith and husband Buddy of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Donette Campbell, Landon Fontenot, Hoy Cooke, Jeanette McFatter, Jamie Higginbotham and Hayley Higginbotham; great grandchildren, Brooke Campbell, Landon Fontenot, Jr., Madelyn Cooke, Austin Cruse, Jessie, Lanie and Tyler Higginbotham, Daniel McFatter and Jonathan McFatter;  step great-great grandchild, Logan McFatter and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Arthur Young; parents, Mertie and Bernard Hare; 1 brother, 1 sister, and a son-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.  Rev. Jim Miers will officiate.
