Neil Endmond Cole

Neil Edmond Cole, 68 of Junction, LA, traded his welding hood for wings on July 11, 2023.

Neil was born to Ernest and Esther Cole in Deridder, LA. He graduated from East Beauregard High School in 1973. He spent time training to be a welder. Neil retired from Boise to serve those around him from his shop at home. Neil was a loving and devoted husband. He was quick to love and obey his “Jewel”, Opal. Neil was a member of Harvest Baptist Church.

Neil was an amazing father, poppy, brother and friend to those of us blessed by his time on earth. Neil loved Jesus, and loved to share the word with everyone.

Neil enjoyed visiting, and always found a way to make each conversation last just a little longer. Neil held the gift of friendship very near and dear to his heart. He was always quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. Neil cherished his grandchildren, and loved to spend time with them. He enjoyed taking them fishing, swimming, riding on tractors, and long adventurous bike rides. He loved to wake them up for church with a little Aqua-Velva. He made sure they always knew that Poppy and Jesus love them.

Neil enjoyed traveling, reading, attending gospel singings, LSU, and the USA.

Neil is survived by his wife Opal, of the home; son, Clint Cole of Merryville; stepsons, Jason and Stephanie Sims of Bon Wier, TX, Jason and Dani McMahon of Cheyenne, WY, Jared and Jennifer McMahon of Sugartown, LA, Zachary and Liz McMahon of Deridder, LA; stepdaughters, Melanie and Scott Higgie of Merryville, Jessica and Randy Dressler of Comanche, OK; stepmothers Margie Cole of Deridder, Nelda Lou Brack of DeRidder, LA; brothers Ernie and Robbie Cole of Deridder, LA, Charles and Tammy Cole of Cole Central, Clayton and  Sheila Cole of Houston, TX, Joel Colletti and Cindy of Deridder, LA; sisters Alicia and Harold Young of Kirbyville, TX, Naomi and Bill Sniffen of Haughton, LA, Tracy and Vernon Delome of Deridder, LA,  Belinda and Jimmy McMillan of Cole Central. Neil left 15 grandchildren to forever cherish their memories of Poppy; Cason, Cameron, Jaylyn, Hunter, Kennadi, Rosalind, Paisley, Dominique, Cason N., Quentin, Hadley, Phoenix, Lexi, Axel,and Bleux.

Neil was welcomed into heaven by his father and his loving mother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Pastor Jonathan Comeaux will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Mark Stephens, Bryan Smith, David Ludolph, Mike Reeves, Tony Winburn, Bubba Day. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Brandon, Lindsey Dunham, Dale Young, Rooter Smith, Issac Whiddon, Peanut Martin. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
