Myrtle Lee Cryer Shelton, 80, of Leesville, LA. passed from this life on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Myrtle was a Pastor’s wife for over thirty years and dedicated her life to having a servant’s heart. She was known as a very gentle soul and loved to help anyone in need. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Albert and Mary Shelton of Leesville, LA, Dennis Shelton of Leesville, LA, Joseph “Joe” and Melissa Shelton of Wichita Falls, TX; daughter, Essie Slaydon of Newton, TX; brothers, James Cryer of Leesville, LA, Jerry Cryer of Leesville, LA; sisters, Pauline Cryer Keohokapu of Leesville, LA, Murlene Cryer Massey of Leesville, LA, Ocie Cryer Mahoney of Leesville, LA, Ruth A. Cryer Luebbers; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Shelton; parents, Jesse James & Rosa Lee Rice Cryer; brothers, Norman Monroe Cryer, Authur Cryer, Oscar Cryer; sisters, Lois Virginia Cryer Midkiff, Joyce Cryer, Doris Faye Cryer Wiley Smart, Jewel Cryer; daughter-in-law, Brandy Shelton; grandson, Jesse Shelton

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Lillie Pentecostal Church in Leesville, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Lillie Pentecostal Church in Leesville, LA. Reverend Eric Davis, Reverend George Swain, Sr., Reverend Allen Byong will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Joe Shelton, Albert Shelton, Jacob Slaydon, Joshua Slaydon, Shawn Franklin, Richard Lee Mitchell. Burial will follow at Evans Community Cemetery in Evans, Louisiana.
