Myrtle B. LeJune, 85, entered the gates of heaven on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.
Myrtle was born in Dry Creek where she lived until she graduated from Dry Creek High School in 1950. She went on to work as a civilian at Fort Polk and then married her husband, Jessie LeJune, on June 3, 1956. Myrtle went on to retire from the Beauregard Parish School Board in 1986. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She spent her life as a true servant of the Lord, always a shining example of what it means to be the Lord’s hands and feet.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jessie LeJune; daughters Debra Arrington of DeRidder and Donna Carter (Allan) of Lake Charles; her four granddaughters, Lacie Carter and Holly Holland (Michael) of Lake Charles, Gennifer Burks (Casey) and Gessica Arrington of DeRidder; great-grandson Lucas Burks; one sister Doris Davis (Wayne) of DeRidder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Meda Miers Bailey; one sister, Melva Jean Roberts; one brother, Allen Bailey.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, on Thursday, Nov. 17. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning at Myers Colonial Funeral Home . Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.
