Mitchell Davis

Mitchell Lee “Whopp” Davis, 68, of Merryville, LA was born on December 24, 1954 in Houston, TX and passed from this life on Friday, July 7, 2023 in DeQuincy, LA.

Mitch enjoyed fishing to pass the time. Everyone will remember him riding his bicycle around town and lending a helping hand to those in need. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ora Mae Davis of Merryville, LA; five sisters, Shirley, Betty, and Dorothy Davis, all of Houston, TX, Charlotte and Patsy Davis, both of Merryville, LA; two brothers, Johnny Davis of Houston, TX, Audry Davis of Merryville, LA and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rhastus H. Davis; five brothers, Roy Lee Davis, Carl Lee Davis, Eugene Davis, Ira Polk, Robert Earl Davis.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. Reverend Kieran Coleman will officiate the service.
