Michael Shane Smith, 49, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Patsy Smith of Rosepine, LA; sister, Vivian Bailey and Larry, Jr. of Rosepine, LA; nephew, Cameron Bailey and Lanee of Dry Creek, LA; nieces, Julie Bennett and Bret of Rosepine, LA, Alayna Bailey of Rosepine, LA; great nieces and nephews, Brycyn, Bentlee, Tinsleigh, Rylee “Smiley Rylee”, Danlyn and a host of cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Smith; great nephew, Braydon Bennett; grandparents, Hershel and Kathryn Smith, Andrew and Beulah Fowler.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Kermit Bostelman will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Larry Bailey, Jeremy Calcote, Lane Calcote, Aaron Getz, Bret Bennett, David Gregory, Tommy Fowler, Brian Shuman. Honorary Pallbearer will be Nathaniel Barton. Burial will follow at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
