Michael Myers

Michael Glenn Myers, 64, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, September 24, 2021.

Michael was married to his wife Debbie for forty-five years. He was a logger for most of his life and worked for Myers Logging for twenty-three years. He was known as “The Legend Sheer Driver.” He could cut wood better than most. Mike always wanted to stay ahead of everyone with his cutting. He loved hunting, fishing and hanging out with his grandkids. He was the best grandpa and dad anyone could have asked for. On most days he was a teddy bear, but don’t make him mad, he would clear a room! When the hair frizzed, you’d better be running! But those grandkids could make him melt right in the palm of their hands. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty-five years, Debbie Myers of Merryville, LA; sons, Stephen Myers and Kristine of Lake Charles, LA, Sage Myers of Kenosha, WI; daughters, Joanie Myers and Jeremy of DeRidder, LA, Krystle Gardiner and Phillip of Merryville, LA; sister, Cindy Scott and Wilson of DeRidder, LA and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Myers; daughter-in-law, Amber Myers; parents, H.C. and Jean Myers; grandparents, Monroe and Gennie Sandefer, Anthony and Georgetta Myers; sister, Sheila Dixson; uncle, Charlie Sandefer.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and will continue Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral service at 11:00 AM also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Donald Mason will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Michael Ashworth, Shaye Myers, Edward St. Romain, Ed Garcia, Ben Garcia, Leigh Pruitt, Luke Fletcher and Quentin Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Wesley Jeans, Buddy Clark, Ricky Sandefer, Ronnie Sandefer, Nathaniel Williams, Michael Jenkins, Dustin Myers and Scott Greene. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
