Michael Lynn Townley

Michael Lynn Townley, age 61, from DeRidder, LA, passed from us on March 11, 2024.

Mike held many titles to those he knew: Husband, Daddy, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was an ironworker, truck driver, crane operator, rigger, boilermaker, and most of all a cowboy.

Mike and Denise met at a young age, 15 and 14, married at 18 and 17, and shared 42 years of marriage. Throughout their marriage they were blessed with their children, Joey and Amy.

Mike never met a stranger. He made it a point to bring a smile to all he encountered.

He'd spend his last dime to ensure the ones he loved didn't go without.  He had a heart of gold.

He was so proud of his wife and children. He often referred to Denise as his girlfriend and never ceased to bring her flowers. He often said if he had it all to do over again, he'd choose the same wife. Denise was his everything.  His children were his world and he never failed to tell them he loved them and he was so proud of them.  There was nothing he wouldn't have done for his family.

Many can confirm that if Mike Townley loved you, you didn't have to question it.

Mike, you showed us all what true love really is.  You made it seem effortless to care for others. You loved the Lord and served Him well.

Your love, stories, memories, wisdom and guidance will forever be in our hearts.

Heaven gained a true cowboy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty-two years, Denise Townley of DeRidder, LA; son, Joey Townley of Cedar Creek, TX; daughter, Amy Townley of DeRidder, LA; brothers, James W. Townley, Jr. of DeRidder, LA, Donnie Townley and Susan of Shepherd, TX, Ronnie Townley and Sheila of North Little Rock, AR; sisters, Ina Lee Reeves and David of Fordland, MO, Robbie Hicks of Picayune, MS, Dorothy Annette Ruiz and Ronnie of Georgetown, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Roy Mae Townley and twin sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shady Grove Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2024, also at Shady Grove Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, LA. Brother Ricky Wead, Brother William Troy White, Brother Richard Wade Townley, Brother James W. Townley, III will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be James W. Townley, Jr., Donnie Townley, Ronnie Townley, Matt Hill, Bobby Joe Goleman, Glen Meeks, Little John Hicks, Arthur Townley. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
