Merline Jane Phillips Simmons, 70, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, March 8, 2021.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 44 years, Edward Simmons of DeRidder, LA; son, Lance Eugene Skinner and Machelle of Savannah, MO; daughters, Juanita Merline Lambert and David of Lebnon, TN, Kayla Kristin Hunt and Johnny of DeRidder, LA, Robin Cheryl Sweeney and David of Huntsville, AL; brother, Allen DeWayne Phillips and Anne of Moss Bluff, LA; sister, Clora Jean Phillips of DeRidder, LA; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Carline Phillips; brothers, John Phillips, James Merle Phillips.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at First United Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 12, 2021, also at First United Pentecostal Church. Brother Zale Lewis and Brother Chance Lewis will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be David Lambert, Johnny Hunt, David Sweeney, Burt Phillips, Jasper Phillips, Allen Phillips. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
