Matilda Marie Fortner, 63, of Brookeland, TX, passed from this life on Friday, July 29, 2022.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of twenty years, Douglas Fortner of Brookeland, TX; son, James Dickens of Rosepine, LA; daughters, Rebecca Dickens and Robert Savant of DeRidder, LA, Jessica Carroll and Brian of Pitkin, LA, Martha Ruth Waddle and Chuck of Rosepine, LA; sister, Melinda Bunyard and Marvin of Rosepine, LA;  grandchildren, Chance, Karmon, Kaitlyn, Chasity, Nicolette, Megan, Sable, Bubba, Bella, Kaleigh; nineteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Rose Jackson; brothers, Joe Jackson, Keven Jackson; sisters, Jean Buell, Bernice Cockrell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church in Rosepine, LA. Brother Larry James Dickens will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Bubba Waddell, J.D. Sandoval, Jesse Mays, Robert Savant, Clifford Jackson, Keaton Jackson. Burial will follow at John C. White Providence Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
