Marie was a homemaker who loved spending time with family and friends.  Her two grandsons; Jason and Jeremy, were very special and the apple of her eye.  She was an excellent seamstress, sewing and mending most of the clothes for the entire family.  A terrific cook, she often hosted dinners for the ARCO retirees and the members of her Sunday School class as well as family and friends.  Her chicken and dumplings dish was a family favorite.  She was a small gentle woman with open arms and willing hands to help anyone who needed it.  She loved quilting, crocheting and sewing crafts and for many years was an active member of the Crowley Art Association.

She and her late husband traveled extensively, often to attend National Eaves family reunions, the Smith family reunion and also just to see America.  They loved to follow Bluegrass music festivals throughout the United States. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all.

Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements. The family is deeply appreciative of the love and care given to Marie by the staff of River Oaks Retirement Manor.
