Martha Jane Vander

Martha Jane Rogers Vander, 76, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Monday, August 24, 2020.

Martha was born in LaFollette, TN, but was a proud lifelong resident of Rosepine, LA. She worked many years as a cafeteria worker and teacher aide for Rosepine School District. She happily spent her retired years as a homemaker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kelvin Vander and Sue of Rosepine, LA, Roger Vander and Melinda also of Rosepine, LA; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-four years, Luther R. Vander; parents, George and Dovie Rogers; one brother; five sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 31, 2020 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Bill Smith, Brother Charlie Williams and Brother Steve Thomas will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Nethaneel Malone, Cody Vander, Skylan Spence, David Vander, Dusty Ray, Alan Vander, Joseph Vander and Brandon Spence. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Keel and Tyler Johnson.  Burial will follow at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
