Marlene Martin Landry, born on June 11, 1952, in DeRidder, LA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Merryville, LA. Marlene thrived as an administrative assistant in the oil industry. She adored singing at church, grooving to Elvis Presley tunes, and indulging in her love for bling and Cape Jasmine flowers. Marlene loved the coast and could often be found crabbing and enjoying the coastal breeze. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Randell Paul Burton of Merryville, LA, Eric Burton of Carlyss, LA; stepdaughter, Hope Walding of Sulphur, LA; brother, J.R. Martin of Merryville, LA; sisters, Kathy Stephens and Kenny Harvey of Merryville, LA, Alene Jacobs and Edward of Cravens, LA; grandchildren, Brittney Anderton and Ryan, Clayton Burton, Bryer Keel; great grandchildren, Dani Rose Anderton, Wyatt James Anderton; nieces and nephew, LeAnne Digby and James, Kim Sonnier and Gary, Staci Davis and Greg, James Hershey, Chance Jacobs and Hailey; great nieces and nephews, McKenzie Midkiff, Maci Davis, Marley Davis, Payton Johnson, Kyree Wynn; great-great niece, Kate Midkiff and a host of cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Landry; parents, Ottis and Bernice Martin; sister, Patricia Holmes. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother Vince Guidry will officiate the service.
