Marilyn Ashworth Day, 57, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Sunday, October 16, 2011 in DeRidder. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Jeff Phillips, Rev. Donnis Ashworth,Rev. Ken Gibson & Rev. Ed Tilley will officiate. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.

Marilyn was a native and lifelong resident of DeRidder and a graduate of DeRidder High School. Music was Marilyn's passion, she travelled all over the U.S. playing the piano and keyboard and singing gospel music with her husband and family. Together they recorded several gospel albums. Marilyn was an outstanding prayer warrior and a Christian example for all to follow. She was a devoted wife and mother and a genuine friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
