Margie Batiste Dupas

Margie Batiste Dupas, 91, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, October 4, 2018.

Margie enjoyed her daisy flowers and gardening. Her dogs were her passion. In her spare time, she loved to paint and sew.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Joseph Dupas and Carl Dupas of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Georgelon Jenkins and Chris of DeRidder, LA, Royce Clark and Richard of Leesville, LA, Ellen Whitley and Raymond of Copperas Cove, TX, Virginia Lang Dupas of DeRidder, LA, Dorothy Hitchens and Michael of DeRidder, LA, Paula Guillory and Willie of DeRidder, LA; sister, Dorothy Batiste Boyer; godchildren, Raymond Paul Dupas, Harold Archield and Charles King; twenty-five grandchildren; sixty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Pallbearers are, Christopher Dupas, Javon J. Whitley, Jaime Benjamin, Shedrick Johnson and Calvin McKnight. Honorary Pallbearers are, Joseph F. Dupas, Carl Z. Dupas, Raymond Whitley, Christen Kins, Willie Guillory, Richard Clark, Michael Hitchens and Alonzo Braggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dupas; son, Peter N. Dupas; daughter, Mary Mercado; parents, Ferdinand and Grace Batiste.

Visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:30 AM, with Rosary beginning at 10:30 till completed. Funeral service with Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
