Margaret Ann Sawyer Flowers

d. April 1, 2023

Margaret Ann Sawyer Flowers,76, passed from this life on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

In DeRidder, LA, on October 3, 1946, a beautiful baby girl was born to the union of Johnnie Sawyer and Alice Duke Sawyer. They named their beautiful blessing from God Margaret Ann Sawyer. I am affectionately known as Mama, Nana, Margaret Ann, Aunt Margaret and Marg by my loved ones, as Margaret Biblical means “Pearl”.

I was educated in the public schools of DeRidder, LA and a proud graduate of George Washington Carver High School (Class of 1965). I sought a personal relationship with God in my early childhood and I united with Beauregard Church of Christ under the late Pastor Charles Waller and was baptized. Later through my adult life, I was a member of Bilbo and Roberts Church of Christ. I was a spiritual woman and devoted to my church attending Sunday morning church services and Wednesday night Bible class. I love sharing and speaking God’s word. With my engaging personally, I brought joy, laughter and friendship.

I’ve had some good days, as well as some bad days, but through every day, God was there to bless me through it all. My body began to wear down from the pains and cares of the world. Jesus told me that I had finished my work on earth, it was time for me to rest. So, I bid this world and went to sleep in the loving arms of my Savior. When I awoke in that Paradise oh what a reunion it was. I reunited with my parents, Johnnie and Alice Sawyer; my siblings, Maxine Holliday, Earlie Mae Dixon, Johnny Johnson, Adam Sawyer, Travis Sawyer, and my grandson, Kormeko Jackson.

I leave my loving precious memories in the hearts of my family members, my daughters, Kathy Flowers, Karen Flowers and Terry Flowers; my sons, Kevin Flowers (Tracee), Kenneth Flowers (Genea) and Perry Flowers (Charisse); my granddaughters, Parquida, Jasika, Darian, Kamaria, Sharon, and Amaya; my grandsons, Durell, Nigel, Kevin, Myron, Jaden, Christian, DeMarco, Joey, Jeremiah; my brother, AJ Sawyer and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

To my family and friends, I’m sorry that I had to leave you, but I knew you would understand that God wanted me now, my life’s battles have ended, and it’s time for me to rest. So, as I leave, I entrust you to God, for He will watch over you, care for you and strengthen you until we’re reunited.

Love you always,

Margaret
